Tour Itinerary

01  Welcome to Tokyo Sat 1 Aug

With the Games already underway, you arrive at an exciting time when the city has found it’s ‘Olympic rhythm’ and is heading into the finals stages of many sports.

Upon arrival in Tokyo, you will meet your Tour Host, Jenny May Clarkson and fellow New Zealand supporters over a welcome drink at the ANZ New Zealand House. If you arrive in time, you may be able to catch the women’s Rugby Sevens finals coverage.

02  Beach Volleyball Sun 2 Aug

Get your bearings in bustling Tokyo with a sightseeing tour

navigating some of the city’s main highlights. Includes lunch.

Tonight is your first taste of the live Olympics sporting action, as we head to Shiokaze Park to watch Beach Volleyball.

03  Equestrian Mon 3 Aug

After a late night at the Beach Volleyball, this morning is at your leisure. Relax and go at your own pace, or enjoy more of the Olympic atmosphere at the ANZ New Zealand House.

This afternoon, travel to Equestrian Park, to be part of the Equestrian Eventing Finals - a key highlight of the Games where we hope to see New Zealand in a medal contention.

04  Canoe Sprint Tue 4 Aug

It is an early start this morning to head to the water for another potential medal moment at the Canoe Sprint. London 2012 and Rio 2016 gold medalist, Lisa Carrington is expected to be racing to defend her title in the women’s K1 200m.

The afternoon is yours to enjoy at leisure before we regroup for a traditional style Japanese dinner this evening.

05  Nikko day trip Wed 5 Aug

Today our group will be escaping the hustle and bustle of Tokyo and heading 3 hours north to the beautiful town of Nikko. Best known as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Nikko is home to many beautiful temples, shrines, mountains and waterfalls.

Nikko will be a full day excursion, with an evening at leisure on return to Tokyo. You may want an early night before an action-packed day at the track and field tomorrow!

06 All about Athletics Thu 6 Aug

Olympic Stadium will be host all day to many medal moments in the Athletics. The morning session is expected to include the men’s Shot Put Final, where our unstoppable world champion Tom Walsh is aiming to improve on his Rio 2016 bronze medal and throw for gold.

Early evening, we will return to the Athletics to support the women’s Pole Vault Finals, women’s Discus Finals, men’s 3000m Steeplechase Final and women’s 5000m Final.

07 Hockey Fri 7 Aug

08 Double medal action Sat 8 Aug

On our final day of Olympic Sporting Action, we return to the Canoe Sprint to watch our current 2019 World Champion women’s K4 team. Finishing 5th at Rio 2016, they will be looking to build on their success with a medal in Tokyo.

In the evening we head down to Yokohama Baseball Stadium to watch the finals of a new sport to the Olympic programme, Baseball. One of the most popular sports in Japan, it is hoped this may be a home final for the local team and the atmosphere will be fantastic as the silver and gold medals are won.
